Aid and support

The church helps and supports people in all kinds of life situations. The congregation wants to support and help all those in need.

Family counselling

The Counselling Centre for Family Matters offers professional counselling and support on issues related to relationships, family, and other private matters.

The counselling is confidential and free of charge and is available for those living in Tampere and the Pirkanmaa region.

The counselling sessions can be attended individually, as a couple, or as a family. We also offer conciliation in family matters.

We aim to offer particularly prompt care for parents of small children in times of crisis.

You can apply for family counselling primarily via telephone on 040 8048 100. Telephone inquiries are accepted from Monday to Friday between 9 and 11 am as well as from 1 to 3 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. Email inquiries are also welcome at perheneuvonta.tampere@evl.fi

Hospital chaplaincy

Hospital chaplains work among the patients and their relatives and the hospital staff in the hospitals in the Tampere region. In their work the hospital chaplains are committed to confidentiality and to respecting the convictions of each and every person.

Diaconal work

Diaconal work is one of the main tasks of the church: we provide spiritual, physical and material help to those in need. Our particular aim is to try and to reach those who need help the most and who do not receive help anywhere else.

Diaconal work also provides meals on wheels and daytime activities for the elderly. At the food bank, clients may pick up a bag containing basic foodstuffs. Material aid is intended to be temporary.

Priest on duty

A Tampere parishes’ priest is on duty at the Alexander Church from Monday to Friday 4 to 6 pm and  diaconal worker on Thursday 12 to 14 pm.

You can talk with the priest confidentially about any matter that is pressing your mind.  The Church is open in winter time  every day  klo 12-18 .
