A safe church/congregation or other Christian community
In our parishes and Christian communities:
- We respect our own and each other's physical and mental limits.
- We respect everyone's privacy and approach sensitive topics tactfully.
- We respect everyone's beliefs and personal thinking in matters of faith, even when we ourselves adhere to the ideas of our churches and communities.
- We do not accept mental or spiritual violence.
- We pay attention to appropriate language use.
- We meet everyone without judgment and are ready to learn new things from each other.
- We examine critically our prejudices and respect everyone without generalizing or defining assumptions related to appearance, sexuality, gender, marital status, nationality, ethnicity, religion, values, health or ability to unction.
- We, the undersigned congregations and Christian communities in Tampere, follow the Bible's principle of the golden rule when meeting different views and differences. We want to promote the safety of churches and other Christian communities on the basis that, according to Christian doctrine, everyone is an invaluable image of God. We welcome everyone to meet each other.
If racism, harassment, or other inappropriate treatment occurs, we will intervene.
