In the face of illness

If illness has led you or a loved one to hospitalization, you don’t have to face it alone. Our hospital chaplains are here to provide a compassionate ear and bring comfort during times of worry or fear. They offer support, actively listen, and work with you to find a way forward. Our care extends to family members, ensuring that everyone affected receives the support they need.

At Tampere University Hospital, we also organize play activities for children in the pediatric wards, providing a sense of normalcy and joy during their treatment.

Priests in hospitals

Hospital pastors, also known as hospital clergy, are dedicated professionals specializing in pastoral care and crisis intervention. They are readily available for personal discussions, providing a confidential space that respects the beliefs of each individual.

Patients and clients can easily reach a hospital chaplain either through the hospital staff or by direct contact. These skilled professionals offer support not only for personal conversations but also for moments of quiet reflection, prayer, or receiving communion. Additionally, they are available to assist with religious ceremonies such as baptisms, weddings, and other rituals within the hospital setting. Your terms and beliefs are always respected during these interactions.
